Thomas Jefferson’s Favorite Apples from Orchard People on Vimeo.

Each October, more than 75 people gather from far and wide to taste heirloom apples and to learn their stories. The Tufton Farm Apple Tasting which takes place on October 17, 2015 from 9.30 to 11.30 am, is organized each year by the staff at Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s historic home and plantation. The host for the day is author and pomologist Tom Burford. One of the things visitors learn is that Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, was passionate about growing fruit trees. And which were his favourite apples? Watch this short film to find out. Learn more about fruit tree varieties, and about growing fruit trees, at www.OrchardPeople.com.
