The Story of Copley Community Orchard, Vancouver, B.C. from Orchard People on Vimeo.

Founded in 2012, the Copley Community Orchard has transformed a 1.2 acre property in East Vancouver into an incredible food forest where volunteers grow apples, cherries, plums, walnuts and figs as well as raspberries, blueberries, currants, honeyberry, jujubes and kiwi vines. And yet, the group has faced many challenges including a serious drainage problem on site that could have doomed the project to failure. In this film, one of the founders, Hartley Rosen of the Environmental Youth Alliance, talks about the Copley orchard (http://www.copleycommunityorchard.com/) and the lessons he has learned. This video was produced by Susan Poizner, Director of Orchard People Fruit Tree Care Education. Learn how to grow fruit trees at www.orchardpeople.com.
